Switzer Muzzles New York Bats
Sunday, August 29th , 1976
Bill Switzer was in a mood to talk following the Houston Drillers contest against the New York Empires, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Empires, 4-0.

"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Switzer said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."

The left-hander blanked New York on a 4-hitter, allowing 2 walks and racking up 6 strikeouts.

In the current season in 28 starts, Bill Switzer has a record of 13-8 with 90 strikeouts in 185 innings and a 3.16 ERA.
