Behind Baird, Cleveland Blanks Cincinnati, 8-0
Monday, September 13th , 1976
It was not a good day at the plate for the Cincinnati Packers. They came up empty when it mattered against Cleveland Bobcats right-hander Myron Baird, who scattered 2 hits across 9 innings and held the Packers scoreless.
"We had 2 hits so I know he wasn't completely untouchable, but he was close," Cincinnati manager Martin Abresch said later.
Baird chalked up 8 strikeouts and 1 walk in the 8-0 Bobcats win.
In 33 starts this season, Baird has picked up 18 wins while suffering 10 losses. He has pitched 228 innings, allowed 200 hits, struck out 145 and posted a 2.37 ERA.
