Razor-Sharp Peters Blanks Washington
Tuesday, September 21st , 1976
It was not a good day at the plate for the Washington Eagles. They came up empty when it mattered against Chicago Traders left-hander Bobby Peters, who scattered 6 hits across 9 innings and held the Eagles scoreless.
"We had 6 hits so I know he wasn't completely untouchable, but he was close," Washington manager Brandon Tucker said later.
Peters chalked up 5 strikeouts and 1 walk in the 6-0 Traders win.
This year, Peters has a 20-10 mark in 37 starts with a 2.80 ERA. He has given up 253 hits in 273 innings, struck out 117 and issued 62 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .248 batting average against him.
