Castro Skunks Los Angeles, 4-0
Wednesday, August 10th , 1977
The Los Angeles Pobladores manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Houston Drillers. The Pobladores were overpowered by Houston starter Francisco Castro, who hurled his club to victory, 4-0.

"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Alex Wobbema said.

Over 9 innings, Castro blanked Los Angeles on 5 hits with no walks and 3 strikeouts.

"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Castro said.

"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."

Thus far this season, Castro has tossed 120.2 innings in 19 starts, fanned 78 batters, walked 35 and put up a 4.55 ERA with 5 wins and 8 losses.
