Red-Hot McCarthy ABL Player of the Week
Monday, September 25th , 1967
22-year-old Paul McCarthy sent shock waves through Major League Baseball last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the American Baseball League Player of the Week Award.

A newcomer to the league, McCarthy made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .481 average, 13 hits in 27 at-bats, 2 home runs and 4 runs batted in.

Where the Los Angeles Pobladores left fielder goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but McCarthy certainly made his mark last week.

Looking at his season stats, McCarthy has compiled a .309 batting average and a .367 on-base percentage, while hitting 12 home runs and driving in 35 runs.
