ABL Picks Rookie of the Month Thursday, September 1st , 1977 Youngster Chuck Burton emerged as the latest American Baseball League Rookie of the Month today. The young man from Chicago deserved the honor, batting .363 with 1 home run and 14 RBI. Is the month of August a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Burton enjoy the limelight. This year, Burton has hit at a .297 clip with 135 hits, 10 home runs, 44 RBIs and 65 runs scored. |
