He may have less experience than most of his Major League Baseball peers, but that didn't slow Guillaume Moret down at all in 1967.

At the age of 24, the Denver right fielder has been named the winner of the National Baseball League Most Valuable Player Award.

He had a .295 batting average and a .418 on-base percentage this year. In 158 games he piled up 171 hits, 24 doubles, 3 triples, 34 home runs, 71 RBIs and 121 runs scored.

"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."

Mike Lockhart of the Washington Eagles finished second in voting, while Joe Voss of the Philadelphia Quakers finished third.
