The Kansas City Bulls stopped the Cincinnati Packers by a score of 11-0 at Independence Field, with the lion's share of the credit going to second baseman Dave Lester. The 27-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.

"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Lester said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."

Lester did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Packers.

"Not much that I can say," offered Cincinnati manager Martin Abresch. "He just hammered the heck out of us."

Dave Lester hit a two-run single in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Brian Alfieri in the 8th.

In 90 games this year, Lester has posted a .308 average and put up these numbers: 13 home runs, 48 RBIs and 42 runs scored.
