Season Possibly Over for Ernie Ronnebaum Sunday, September 26th , 1976 The Chicago Hawks and their fans were rocked today by the news that star left fielder Ernie Ronnebaum would miss the rest of the season due to injury. Ronnebaum was hurt in a recent game against the Houston Drillers while running the bases. He was immediately removed from the game and taken for examination. Tests today revealed the injury was a fractured thumb. His doctors think that Ronnebaum will miss about 5 weeks. Currently Ronnebaum is hitting .282 and has collected 13 home runs, 37 RBIs and scored 41 times, while playing in 76 games. |
