Teckenbrock Sizzles, St. Louis Fizzles
Thursday, August 22nd , 1974
Dave Teckenbrock was in a mood to talk following the Brooklyn Bluebirds contest against the St. Louis Explorers, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Explorers, 2-0.
"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Teckenbrock said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."
The right-hander blanked St. Louis on a 4-hitter, allowing no walks and racking up 2 strikeouts.
This season, Teckenbrock has 16 wins and 6 losses and a 3.07 ERA.
