Arndt Shuts Out Seattle, 2-0 Tuesday, August 27th , 1974 Jim Arndt kept the Seattle Emeralds hitters from doing much damage at San Vicente Park. Seattle could only muster 4 hits and draw 2 walks against the right-handed Arndt, who controlled them throughout the game. Los Angeles won the contest, 2-0. Arndt added 2 strikeouts in his complete-game effort. "I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Arndt told reporters after the shutout win. "But whatever it was, I hope it happens again next time." Arndt has fashioned a 12-12 mark for the season, 2.85 ERA and thrown 198.2 innings in 27 starts. Opposing clubs are batting .247 against him.
