Pittsburgh Loses Daniel Perez for Season
Friday, June 20th, 1952
Pittsburgh starting pitcher Daniel Perez could miss the remainder of the season because of bone chips in his elbow. He exited yesterday's Philadelphia game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Perez would be out 6 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."

In 9 starts this season Perez has gathered 2 wins while suffering 6 losses. He has pitched 69.1 innings, allowed 73 hits, struck out 29 and has a 2.99 ERA.
