England Sends New York Bats to Deep Freeze
Saturday, June 24th, 1950
Albert England of the Toronto Hurons spun his magic on the New York Empires today. He blanked them 7-0 on 4 hits, registering 2 strikeouts and 4 walks.

"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," England said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."

Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Toronto skipper Jim Burns said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."

"Albert pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.

This season-to-date England has 2 wins and 4 losses and a 3.60 ERA.
