Trout Gives New York Goose Eggs
Wednesday, September 4th , 1974
St. Louis's Bob Trout brought his best stuff to Knickerbocker Stadium, shutting down and shutting out the New York Knickerbockers, 2-0. He racked up 2 strikeouts, surrendered 5 hits, and issued no walks on his way to the victory.
"We barely made him work at all," New York manager Timothy Widholm said later. "St. Louis could probably pitch him again tomorrow if they wanted."
In 30 starts this year, Trout has recorded a 18-4 record and a 2.34 ERA.
