Estrada Shuts Out Los Angeles, 5-0
Monday, September 16th , 1974
The Los Angeles Pobladores were almost helpless in their 5-0 loss to the Chicago Hawks and hurler Armando Estrada. Estrada kept the Pobladores confused all game, spinning a 8-hit shutout.

"Tip your hat to Estrada," Los Angeles manager Kurt Peterson said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."

The 31-year-old right-hander had 5 walks and 5 strikeouts in a strong performance.

"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Estrada said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."

This season, Estrada has compiled a 9-15 mark, 3.22 ERA and made 32 starts.
