Stambaugh Fashions Shutout Against Houston
Tuesday, October 1st , 1974
Tim Stambaugh was in a mood to talk following the San Francisco Seagulls contest against the Houston Drillers, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Drillers, 2-0.
"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Stambaugh said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."
The right-hander blanked Houston on a 4-hitter, allowing 3 walks and racking up 4 strikeouts.
On the season, Stambaugh has a 19-8 record with a 2.33 ERA.
