Chicago Out of Time, Out of Playoffs Monday, September 18th , 1961 The Chicago Hawks have spent much of the season on the outside looking in at the playoff race. They will be permanently on the outside now, after being officially eliminated from contention today. The Hawks have missed the playoffs 15 times in their 16 years as a Major League Baseball franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 7th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 1954. In the last 10 seasons, the Hawks have only made the playoffs once. |
