Los Angeles Offense MIA in 7-0 Loss
|
The Chicago Traders earned a win at Union Field, stopping the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 7-0. Starting pitcher Randy Birch played a big role in his team's success. Birch, now 7-5, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing no runs. The Traders bumped their record to 43-37 with this win.
In the bottom of the fifth, John Sledd delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 3rd, the Chicago first baseman hit a run-scoring single, putting the Traders in front, 7-0.
"It feels good, just a great win all around," Sledd said after the game.
