San Francisco got a big-time effort from pitcher Ramon Juarez, but it wasn't enough to keep the Chicago Hawks from winning the game, 2-1. Juarez threw 9.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. The Hawks sport a record of 40-77.

Lute Eccles, who is tied for 10th in the ABL with a .406 on-base percentage, had a direct impact on the outcome. Eccles contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put Chicago up, 1-0.
