The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Chicago fans at Hyde Park Stadium.

The Chicago Hawks overcame a good performance by San Francisco catcher Jose Barroso to knock off San Francisco, 8-7, at Hyde Park Stadium. Barroso hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Brian Gatlin, credited with the save, is now 1 for 2 in save opportunities.

Felipe Chavez chipped in a 2-run home run for Chicago in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Chavez told a Chicago Daily reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
