The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.

The San Francisco Seagulls overcame a pretty good performance by Chicago first baseman Tyree Davis, beating the Hawks, 6-4, at Mission Field. Davis was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. San Francisco pitcher Jerry Patrick earned the win, hiking his record to 4-0. Ken Eldridge suffered the loss. Arnie Keilman earned the save for San Francisco, his 1st.

Third Baseman Scott Wagner made an impact for San Francisco, when he swatted a run-scoring triple off Ken Eldridge in the bottom of the first. For the contest, Wagner went 1-2 with a triple and a walk.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Wagner told the San Francisco Daily News.

The Hawks drop to 8-12, as their stumbling start to the 1977 season continues.
