Kansas City Beats Philadelphia, 2-1
|
Behind an impressive start by Mel Hartman, Kansas City beat Philadelphia, 2-1. Andy Luce recorded the save for Kansas City, his 1st of the season. With the win, Kansas City is 13-18.
Kansas City used the bat of Eddie Tobin to get the win. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Bulls ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Hartman said.
