The San Francisco Seagulls defeated the Chicago Hawks, 5-3, in American Baseball League action at Hyde Park Stadium. San Francisco pitcher Arturo Lopez had a standout performance. Lopez got the win, improving to 2-2. He gave up 6 hits and walked 3 over 6 innings. He allowed 2 runs. The loss makes Chicago 13-19.

San Francisco needed the clutch hitting of Bobby Tapia to seal the deal. The right fielder swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Seagulls on top, 4-2. For the game, Tapia had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
