Late Rally by Quakers Secures 2-1 Win
|
The Philadelphia Quakers got a magnificent performance from pitcher Manny Salinas, who stifled the Milwaukee offense en route to a 2-1 Quakers win at Milwaukee Municipal Stadium. Philadelphia raised its record to 22-22 with the win.
Philadelphia used a clutch hit from Gary Trent to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Quakers ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Philadelphia skipper Jeff Green.
