Hyde Park Stadium was the site of a competitive game between the Chicago Hawks and San Francisco Seagulls.

San Francisco starter Arturo Lopez pitched well against the Chicago Hawks at Hyde Park Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. San Francisco, at 31-15, is 3 games up in the American Baseball League Western Division.

San Francisco used the timely hitting of Don Johnson to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Seagulls on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Johnson told the San Francisco News.
