Houston Trades Daniel for Kansas City's Martin
Saturday, October 26th, 1957
The Houston Drillers and Kansas City Bulls have put the finishing touches on a deal that was weeks in the making. Houston will part with 29-year-old C Mike Meersman and 28-year-old RF Milt Daniel, while the Bulls have dealt 22-year-old 3B Phil Martin, a 2nd round draft pick and a 3rd round draft pick.

"This one took a while to figure out," said Houston general manager Steven Palps. "We must have gone back to the drawing board five or six times over the past few weeks. I'm glad we finally got the deal done. I think it is a good one for both clubs."

For his 827-game career Daniel has hit .237 with 688 hits, 283 RBIs, and 54 home runs.

In his career Martin has hit .224 with 81 hits, 19 doubles, no triples and 6 home runs. His totals also include 29 RBIs and 29 runs scored.
